Launched in March 2016 We Are Veterans (Formerly known as Shrewsbury AFVBC) is a social organisation with a team of 10 volunteer admins who help run the club.
We Are Veterans is recognised as a support group by the Armed Forces Covenant and is supported by our local AFC team.
The informal nature and relaxed atmosphere at our club allows members to feel like they are back in familiar territory with their military family, and because of the informalities members really feel at ease. Although the club is for HM Armed Forces Veterans and serving members, we encourage our members to bring their family along to our gatherings. Our member’s ages range from 18 to 97 years old and we are men and women from all 3 branches of HM Armed Forces. We also welcome members of foreign armed forces to join us.
When attending We Are Veterans there are no fees or subs to pay. Our club exists simply to facilitate veterans and serving personnel, meeting face to face, in a relaxed, safe, social environment, whilst indulging in a healthy portion of service banter at one of our regular social events; that is our primary aim and function above all others.
There are no dress codes and members join us for breakfast and other events when they want to; no apologies are needed if they are unable to come along. Rank stays at the door.
